Although I bought this at a large toothpick holder auction, from the shape it could also pass as a miniature vase. It was made by the firm of Monot Stumpf in France. It is a quality piece of blown art glass as evidenced by the large ground and polished pontil mark on the underside. The piece in my photos is the actual item you will receive. This piece has been in my personal collection since 2007. Please be sure to read the “Age and Condition” & “Approximate Dimensions” paragraphs below. Also, please read about our multiple purchase discount under the “PAYMENT, SHIPPING, Insurance & PACKAGING” paragraph below.While I don’t find this exact shape in any of my toothpick holder reference books, a piece by this same maker is pictured in the book TOOTHPICK HOLDERS: China, Glass and Metal by the National Toothpick Holder Collector’s Society on page 27 as Photo # 159.Regardless, a beautiful and desirable little piece! It is in excellent to near mint original condition. Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item. There is one extremely minor flea bite to the top rim. Otherwise, there are no chips, flea bites, cracks, hairlines, or repairs to the glass – see my photos. With a loupe, I can see appropriate age-related signs of use or wear to the underside of the foot, where the piece sits. Please keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos, it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece.
