Jupiter-8 (Юпитер-8) lens is a great Soviet/Russian-made copy of a Zeiss Sonnar 50/2. It was produced in both Contax/Kiev bayonet mount and in Leica thread mount. Focal length: 50 mmAperture: 1:2 (steps from 2 to 22)Focusing range: 1 m – InfinityFilter size: 40.5×0.5 mmOptical registration (back focus): 28.8 +/- 0.02 mmMount: M39x1 mm (LTM). The lens mounts and RF couples with any Leica or Leica copy (FED, Zorki etc.) The lens is finished in black – later production version made from mid-1960’s to the production end in the late 1970’s. The glass is coated. The lens is in excellent condition, clean glass, clean exterior. The focusing is smooth. There maybe some very minor blemishes and minor sign of use on the lens exterior. This Jupiter-8 comes with generic front and rear caps. The Jupiter-8 was sold as a premium option on some Zorki cameras (Zorki, Zorki-2S, Zorki-3 to name a few). The black variant presented in this lot was shipped as a prime lens on the Zorki-4K. The lens is shown mounted on a Leica II (camera is for illustration only and is not included).
